Lent is a season where Christians focus on the cross of Jesus, especially mindful of their own sin and the reason the cross was necessary. I'm going to try a Lenten project again this year to assist in the repentance, reflection, and renewal of the season.

My last post was centred on the idea of being a "man of Issachar" (1 Chronicles 12:32) which is to say that I want to be someone who understands the times so that within my vocations I can help the Church be wise about what to do. And as I begin to re-launch this project called TheResonant, I want to re-visit something I started to do five years ago (wait, has it really been that long?).
I started posting daily through the season of Lent in 2020 and was rudely interrupted by the onset of the global pandemic which required a huge shift of my attention away from that effort, and it took me away from this project in general. Sometimes projects come and go, and many have throughout the years. But this one has stuck with me and so I'm paying attention to that again, and the timing seems good to come back and try again.
40 Days of Resonance will be a journey through the Gospel according to John. We're using this Gospel account to anchor the themes of our congregation's Lenten midweek and Holy Week worship this year—most specifically the discourse and events surrounding the Last Supper—and so I'm going to post a few simple thoughts a day here to complement that. Being that there are 40 days of Lent and 21 chapters in John's Gospel account, I'll focus on roughly half a chapter a day.
These won't be in-depth posts, but reflections on one or a few pieces of the text and how they resonate with me as I apply them to life today in the culture I live in. I welcome you to join me in this, to read and reflect, and comment on posts and/or contact me directly if you'd like to engage with what I'm thinking about and writing.
